Healthy gums do not bleed. If yours do when you brush, that is inflammation asking for attention rather than a reason to brush less.
Brush twice a day for two minutes with a fluoride toothpaste, and clean between your teeth daily with floss or interdental brushes.
Smoking, uncontrolled diabetes and some medicines increase gum-disease risk. Mention these to your dentist so your care can be tailored.
If bleeding continues after two weeks of good cleaning, book an assessment.
