A ToothAid online video consultation costs £19.99. That is a single flat price with no subscription and no hidden fees, and it is shown again before you pay.

Who will I speak to?

A GDC-registered UK dentist who has completed ToothAid's onboarding and vetting checks, including registration and indemnity verification.

Question 3

Can I get a prescription?

Accepted Answer

Where it is clinically appropriate, your dentist can issue a prescription through Clynxx, our regulated prescribing partner. Prescribing is always at the dentist's clinical discretion.

Question 4

What if I need to be seen in person?

If you need hands-on treatment, we refer you to a participating dental practice. You choose a time range, the practice proposes a specific appointment, and you confirm it.

Can I cancel my consultation?

Accepted Answer

Yes. You can cancel from your account at any time before the start time. Cancel with more than 6 hours' notice and your fee is refunded within 5 working days; cancel within 6 hours of the start time and the fee is non-refundable. You can also reschedule free of charge from your account up to 3 hours before the start time; after that, rescheduling isn't possible.

Is my information private?

Your records, photographs and X-rays are stored privately and encrypted, and are only accessible to people directly involved in your care. You can request a copy of your data or ask for it to be erased where retention rules allow.

Is ToothAid a regulated dental provider?

Accepted Answer

Yes. ToothAid is provided by Toothaid Ltd, registered with the Care Quality Commission for the treatment of disease, disorder or injury. Every clinician is GDC-registered, indemnified and verified before taking appointments. Full registration details are on our regulatory information page.

Do I need to be an NHS or private patient to use ToothAid?

Accepted Answer

Neither. ToothAid is open to anyone in the UK, whether or not you are registered with a dental practice. If you already have an NHS or private dentist, we will share your consultation summary with you so you can pass it on to them.

Question 9

Is ToothAid suitable for emergencies?

Accepted Answer

No. If you have facial swelling affecting your eye or throat, difficulty breathing or swallowing, or uncontrolled bleeding, call 999 or attend A&E.
