How a referral works
Browse participating practices below and pick one that suits you — no dentist referral needed.
Send your request, saying how soon you need to be seen and what you need help with.
The practice reviews your request and proposes a specific appointment time.
You accept the proposed time from the Referrals tab in your account and pay the ToothAid price — the appointment is then confirmed.
Good to know
- One flat ToothAid consultation fee of £39.99. This includes your emergency appointment slot, examination, x-rays and a definitive diagnosis — no out-of-hours surcharge.
- You pay nothing until you accept the time the practice offers. Any treatment you need is quoted by the practice first and paid to them on the day.
- Any further or planned treatment is quoted by the practice and paid to the practice directly — ToothAid adds no fee to it.
- If a practice does not respond within the response window, your request is passed on rather than left sitting.
- Only the information the practice needs to treat you safely is shared with them.
- Urgent, same-day referrals are raised by a ToothAid dentist during or after your video consultation.
